The 5th GCC Municipalities and Smart Cities Conference progressed further on the day 2, 30th September 2015, Wednesday with the keynote speech of Dr. Usman Zafar, CEO DUC Consulting International and Board Advisor, CloudBuy UK and Imex Canada and Krishna Iyer, Founder-CEO, I3ISAM. Dr. Usman Zafar initiated with his case studies on ‘Smart Municipalities Customer Excellence’. He said that if the global municipalities across the globe want to take the cities to the next level of advancement then it gets vital for them to instill innovation in their planning methodologies.
On the similar note, Krishna Iyer, Founder and CEO, I3ISAM, talked about developing smart services knowledge perspective of GCC Citizens and Businesses. He said that regular upgradation of city’s structure through proper planning and systematic approach can help in bringing the much needed transformation. Continuing his words, he asserted that in today’s scenario there is a great need for embracing new development strategies to improve the structural layout of the cities and make them susceptible to suit the changing demographics. Both the speakers conceded that development of municipality’s call centers can also resolve the infrastructural issues and make them pro-actively dynamic in dispensing better city management.
This session ended at 11:00 AM and after the coffee break at 11:30 AM, Dr. Suheel Ahmed, CEO, Arabian Farms Development Co. Ltd, presented his case studies on ‘Municipalities Governance and Best Practices in City’s Food Safety Standards and Community Health’. Dr. Ahmed said that Municipalities have always played a key role in maintaining the permissible food safety standards amongst the restaurants and hotels and to improve these standards further, the officers deployed at the municipalities should be kept upgraded with latest food safety practices prevalent in the other parts of the world.
At 12:15 PM, the session on ‘Global Best Practices: Municipality Smart City Computing and Security’ headed by Dr. Majed Alhaisoni, Dean, IT and e Learning, University of Hail, Saudi Arabia presented his speech with the detailed case studies and slide presentations. Mr. Alhaisoni spoke on the Cloud Architecture and solutions that can be evolved to resolve the cloud security concerns. He said that in the present era, all the world governments are required to upgrade their cloud security networks and elevate the standards of their security structures to counter the breach of informative texts. On the conclusive note, he asserted that effective management and upgradation of cloud practices within the corporate and government sectors can certainly act as the best solution for protecting the vital information in the organizational framework.
